Anthropic’s platform Claude skews responses to left-wing ideology
- A 2025 Hoover Institution study showed when giving Claude models political prompts; the responses were exclusively biased toward left-wing responses.
- The study tested Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet and Haiku models using 30 political prompts. Claude Sonnet gave 11 left-wing slanted responses and 0 conservative responses. Claude Haiku gave 14 left-wing slanted and 0 conservative responses.
Anthropic has deep ties to Effective Altruism (EA), a politically motivated philosophy aimed at pushing a woke agenda onto consumers
- Anthropic President Daniela Amodei and husband Holden Karnofsky deeply tied to the EA movement.
- A recent New York Times article stated: “No major A.I. lab embodies the E.A. ethos as fully as Anthropic. Many of the company’s early hires were effective altruists, and much of its start-up funding came from wealthy E.A.-affiliated tech executives…”
- Jason Matheny, the President and CEO of the RAND Corporation, has strong connections to Anthropic and sat on the Anthropic Long-Term Benefit Trust. Matheny is also an advocate for EA, and started the nonprofit New Harvest, to force individuals to consume lab-grown meat to protect the environment.
Anthropic Leadership is anti-MAGA
- CEO Dario Amodei called President Trump “a clown” and “a serious and legitimate threat to the rule of law.” He also voiced support for Kamala Harris in 2024.
- Board member Jay Kreps tweeted: “Trump should be impeached immediately and removed from social media platforms permanently. The bullshit must stop”.
