Virtue-signaling, woke Virginia Tech soccer coach benched player who refused to protest the national anthem
In 2020, members of Virginia Tech’s women’s soccer team joined the Black Lives Matter bandwagon and protested the national anthem before their games. During each pre-game anthem, the team knelt while a player read a pro-BLM statement aloud.
Kiersten Hening refused to surrender her freedom and patriotism to the woke mob and refused to kneel with her teammates, and she paid the price. Hening claims that her woke coach benched her when she refused to join the protest. He then refused to play her in future games.
Hening sued her coach and recently received a $100K settlement, scoring a huge victory against cancel culture and woke politics.
