IT’S YOUR DATA
NOT THE BANKS

Biased big banks are trying to DESTROY open banking, known as Rule 1033. This rule says that YOU control your bank data and can authorize apps to access it. If you use a budgeting app, virtual wallet, or online payments, you benefit from Rule 1033. Banks want to change the rule so that they own your data and pass on fees when your apps try to access it. Here’s how to stop them:
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is in the process of reconsidering Rule 1033. They need to hear from you.
- Click on the link below to send your comment to the CFPB.
- Under the section “Submit a Formal Comment,” click on “Regulations.gov comment form for this notice.”
- Fill out the form. Here are some points you could make in your comment:
- The big banks debanked President Trump. I don’t trust them to control my data.
- I rely on budgeting apps and online payments in my everyday life. Some of my favorite apps would be negatively impacted and become more expensive to use if Rule 1033 is eliminated or banks are allowed to charge fees to access my data.
- The president says he supports financial freedom, crypto, and all technologies that make it easier for people like me to get ahead. Rule 1033 protects all of that.
- Once you complete the form, click “Submit Comment.” Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to make their voices heard and tell the administration to protect their bank data.
