- New York-Presbyterian promotes “health equity for all” through community partnerships.
- New York-Presbyterian runs the Dalio Center For Health Justice which promotes DEI-like policies and aims to “to dismantle the systemic factors that lead to health inequity and to be an advocate for national change.”
- In its 2025 Health Equity Report the hospital stated: “advancing health justice is essential to our organization’s mission and key part of our strategic framework.”
- The Dalio Center for Health Justice hosts an annual conference to discuss health equity and “tackle systemic factors that lead to health inequity.” In 2024, the Center held a conference on “Environmental Justice: Advancing Health in Our Climate Crisis.”
- The Dalio Center also hosts a book club to engage colleagues in “meaningful discussions about health justice and equity,” promoting a new book each quarter.
- New York-Presbyterian operates “The Compass Program,” a program that supports transgenderism in children.
- New York-Presbyterian Pediatrician-In-Chief Sallie Permar advocated for transgender intervention on kids and pledged to continue “providing gender-affirming care to our transgender youth.” She also committed to “fight against legislation” limiting access to “gender-affirming care” and to advocate for transgender youth as a “vulnerable population.”
- In 2024, New York-Presbyterian received a top score from The Human Rights Campaign Healthcare Equality Index and operates dedicated LGBTQ+ health programs and services across its system.
CommonSpirit Health
- CommonSpirit Health has an Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging which “leads” the “health equity strategy” by: “Removing barriers through economic empowerment while addressing systemic racism in how we partner with others, conduct business, and lead the health care industry.”
- CommonSpirit has five-pillars approach to create equity for all and lists “advocating for social justice” as a key pillar “especially when it comes to healthcare access.”
- CommonSpirit collaborated with Morehouse School of Medicine to push DEI through a $100 million initiative “focused on increasing the number of clinicians who are Black or from other underrepresented populations.”
- CommonSpirit Health promotes transgender ideology through a systemwide steering committee to “ensure standardized training and policies related to best practices for preferred pronouns, gender-neutral restrooms, and family visitation.”
- In 2023, a report was released that exposed how CommonSpirit was offering transgender surgeries and hormone treatments, including providing these transgender interventions to kids.
- The hospital received a top score from The Human Rights Campaign Healthcare Equality Index.
- CommonSpirit integrated radical climate goals through its “Race To Zero” campaign targeting net-zero emissions by 2040.
