WOKE ALERT: Kohl’s, Dollar Tree, Disney, Nationwide, & UPS

These five woke companies are still pushing DEI, but by a new name: “Belonging.”

Recently, companies have stated they are scrapping their DEI programs and policies, but for some companies, this declaration is merely a PR stunt. Instead of doing away with these illegal and discriminatory policies, these five companies are just rebranding their woke policies by calling DEI by a new name: “belonging.”

Kohl’s

In March, Kohl’s recently dropped its DEI policies. But instead of actually getting rid of DEI, the company is using the term “belonging” to promote DEI programs. For example, the Chief DEI Officer, Michelle Banks, changed her title to Chief Inclusion and Belonging Officer.

The company also scrapped its “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” webpage, and created an “Inclusion and Belonging” page instead. Additionally, Kohl’s removed “DEI” from its annual 10-K report and replaced it with “Inclusion and Belonging.” Kohl’s DEI obsession has not disappeared, it only has a new name.

Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree is also masking its woke DEI policies under the term “belonging.” By changing only a few words, Dollar Tree is attempting to hide its activism in plain sight. The company’s old DEI page was titled, “Creating a Culture of Inclusion,” but now it is “Creating a Culture of Belonging.” Where it said, “Our Associates Embrace and Celebrate Diversity, Equity & Inclusion,” it now says, “Our Associates Embrace and Celebrate Our Culture of Belonging.”

Even under this new branding, Dollar Tree still operates its DEI Council and the employee resource groups, showing that the change in language is just a coverup.

Walt Disney

Even while reeling from its disastrous woke Snow White debacle and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) investigation of its DEI practices, Disney remains committed to woke policies when it joined the ranks of companies shifting their message to one of “belonging.”

In February, the entertainment giant announced that it was changing it DEI initiatives to focus on business outcomes, but this has been little more than lip service in an effort to hide its wokeness from consumers. Disney’s former DEI page trumpeting its “Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion” now says “At Disney, we want everyone to belong and thrive.”

The company also renamed its “Business Employee Resource Groups” to “Belonging Employee Resource Groups.” Yet, the company continues to promote supplier diversity and publish “workforce” and a content” representation data broken down by race and sex.

Nationwide

Nationwide is on the woke side. Amid pressure from the Trump Administration, the insurance company supposedly “remove[d] DEI from its website.” However, on its website, the company simply replaced “diversity” with “belonging” in an effort to hide its wokeness. The “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” page is now titled “Belonging, respect and fairness.”

This rebrand can also be seen on the employee resource page with the words like “diversity” and “inclusion” swapped out for “belonging.”

UPS

UPS is also hiding its DEI policies. Its diversity page was titled “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion,” but now it is “Inclusion and Belonging.” With a simple text swap, the core DEI beliefs at UPS have not changed, but rather have been masked. Previously, UPS claimed “At UPS, diversity, equity and inclusion are part of our fabric and the legacy of our founders.” Now it says, “At UPS, inclusion and belonging are part of our fabric and the legacy of our founders.”

The “Business Resource Groups,” remain the same as well, further showing DEI is still thriving in the company.

Companies are scrambling to hide their woke ways from consumers by rebranding DEI. They should be removing these DEI policies completely, not hiding them.
