Windows Update Proves Incompatible With Older Macs, Update Coming

Mac users with devices made before 2012 might be having trouble with downloading the latest version of Windows.

The problem lies in an incompatibility issue between Windows 10, version 1903, and older versions of Boot Camp, which is the program that allows Mac computers to run Microsoft’s operating system, or Window’s Support Software drivers.

During the latest Windows update, Mac users have reportedly run into error messages and been unable to adjust their screen’s brightness. They have missed screen resolutions and the Windows’ display. They have also experienced malfunctions in hardware like trackpads, keyboards, microphones, and cameras while working in Windows.

Microsoft has said it hopes to have the problem fixed by the end of July.

Lifehacker provides instructions for dealing with the problem here.
