The Automatic Data Processions September National Employment Report indicated a rise in private sector jobs. Private payrolls were showed to have added 213,000 jobs in the last month. This figure continues the six-month streak of high ADP figures in job gains, suggesting a positive direction for the economy. Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi of Moody’s says,
Job gains remain strong and steady… The pace of job growth has been remarkably similar for the past several years. Especially encouraging most recently is the increasingly broad base nature of those gains. Nearly all industries and companies of all sizes are adding consistently to payrolls.”
The trade/transportation/utilities industry added the most jobs last month at 38,000. Manufacturing followed with 35,000 jobs added. Furthermore, the ADP indicates that small businesses (less than 50 employees) added the most jobs to payrolls, while mid-size (50-499) added the fewest.
This data indicates continued US economic growth. Further information will be released by the Department of Labor Statistics on Friday, October 3.
