Fintech Worldwide Hosts Blockchain Conference in Conjunction with Local Partner Consumers’ Research at The George Washington University
The Blockchain Conference, Washington, D.C. will be held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday, August 2, at The George Washington University. Fintech Worldwide, presenting this event as part of a series of blockchain conferences around the globe, is partnering in D.C. with Consumers’ Research, the nation’s oldest consumer organization. Sponsors include tØ and BlockBridge Advisory.
Panelists will present and discuss how blockchain technology is being applied to finance, commerce, real estate, smart contracts, identity, distributed autonomous organizations, global financial inclusion, supply chain transparency, and more. Panelists will also discuss the digital currency regulatory environment, consumer protection concerns, and the future of blockchain tech.
Speakers represent a diverse range of government agencies and private sector organizations. These include: Microsoft, IBM, Coin Center, BitFury, U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), New America, World Bank, International Institute of Finance, Booz Allen Hamilton, Mercatus Center, Open Bazaar, and more. There will also be a keynote speech by Stephen Taylor, Commissioner of the Washington, D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB).
“We’re proud of the speaker lineup we’ve helped curate alongside Fintech Worldwide. It has been over two years since Consumers’ Research first began educating lawmakers on the possibilities of blockchain technology,” says Joe Colangelo, Executive Director of Consumers’ Research. “It’s amazing to see how much the interest and knowledge surrounding this technology has increased in that time.”
Conference registration begins at 8:00am and there will be a 45-minute networking reception following the event’s close at 5:00pm.
