Energy Companies Provide Credits to Those Who “Give Back to the Grid” (NPR Podcast)

Across the United States, homeowners are equipping their residences with solar panels in order to be more energy efficient and receive credits from their energy providers. However, the credit system that rewards individuals who “give back to the grid” is causing tension. This NPR report summarizes the issue: “The more energy customers generate for themselves, the lower their utility bill. That leaves less money to maintain the electric grid, utilities say.”
