Climate-Friendly Coal? (Podcast)

In a recent NPR report, Jeff Brady explores the potential for “carbon-capture” technology installed in power plants across the United States. Some environmentalist groups argue that the only solution is to follow 100% renewable Energy. However, John Thompson, director of the Fossil Transition Project at the Clean Air Task Force, believes that the rate of growth of the renewable energy industry is far too slow compared to the rate of negative change in the environment, so “carbon-capture” technology provides a clean stepping stone between renewable and fossil fuel power.
