On Tuesday, November 22, Apple announced that a small number of iPhone 6s models may shut down unexpectedly due to issues with the battery. The phones affected were produced between September and October of this year and this is not a safety issue with the battery (unlike Samsung’s problems with combusting phones).
Owners of an iPhone 6s can bring their smartphone to an Apple store, certified service provider, or technical support. Apple will check the serial number to determine if the phone is eligible for replacement under the program and if so, replace the battery free of charge.
